JANET KERR — Dance & Movement Dept.

Janet is an accomplished teacher, choreographer and professional dancer having performed in theatres throughout North America and abroad for over 25 years.  Her most recent performance was in the Canadian Opera Company’s production of War and Peace at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts.

A graduate of George Brown College, she then went on to become a member of the National Tap Dance Company of Canada for three seasons. She has danced as far north as Yukon and as far south as the Caribbean Islands and a good deal in between!

Janet was in the original Canadian companies of Cats (Elgin Theatre) and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat with Donny Osmond in Toronto and touring abroad, finishing at the historical  Chicago Theatre.  She had the great pleasure of working alongside Liza Minnelli in the film Stepping Out.

As a choreographer Janet has worked with her husband Glen Kerr on Could You Wait, featuring  Tony nominated actress Louise Pitre.  Janet and Glen have been with  TYMTC since its inception in 2005 and have choreographed Music Man, Guys and Dolls, Bye Bye Birdie, Once Upon A Mattress and Suessical.

Janet was on the dance faculty at Sheridan College in the musical theatre program for six years and continues to adjudicate dance festivals across Canada.
